Belfast Beyond was fortunate enough to attend the opening night of ‘Whiskey and Muses’ Visual Waste’s first exhibition, in conjunction with Bushmills’ ‘Answer the Call’ campaign. Bushmills have collaborated with other Belfast creatives including street artist Glen Molloy and tattoo artist Connor Curran, as part of their campaign to celebrate local creative talents and entrepreneurs.
Visual Waste, probably Northern Ireland’s most famous street artist, has teamed up with the famous Irish whiskey, to exhibit his take on some of Northern Ireland’s most influential people, as well as some of his own personal influences. The likes of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Seamus Heaney, Rory Best and Glenn Patterson are just a few of the famous faces on show at the exhibition.
The BBC’s Marie Louise Muir spoke to Visual Waste ahead of the opening, while the lucky audience snacked on Bushmills infused canapés and knocked back a cocktail or two in the Gallery Cafe Bar.
See a few of my favourites below and make sure to get down to the venue to check out the beautiful work for yourself!
‘Whiskey and Muses’ runs until Thursday 31st August 2017 at The Gallery, Dublin Road, Belfast.
